THE NAME
Anuttara
The name “Anuttara” comes from Sanskrit, meaning “the highest,” “supreme,” or “beyond all else.” In spiritual traditions, it refers to the state of ultimate clarity and inner stillness. This idea lies at the heart of our philosophy.
Inspired by the simplicity, discipline, and mindfulness of monastic life, Anuttara was envisioned as a sanctuary where guests can slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—with themselves and with the world around them.
Every detail reflects this intention: calm, grounding architecture; thoughtful and unobtrusive service; and a warmth that feels personal rather than formal.
